Apart from that, the only factor that draws a major distinction between the NA30 and the older designs is the fact that the control knobs at the top barely extend from the panel, making accessing them unnecessarily difficult to use. However, in what is perhaps its coolest design point, the speaker automatically slides its top panel down in a smooth robotic motion when it is powered on, unveiling the control dials in full. It’s a surprisingly appealing addition, and we actually found ourselves powering the speaker on and off a few times just to watch it go. The Panasonic SC-NA30 uses Bluetooth to play music wirelessly.Bluetooth technology is used in 1871 out of the 1953 wireless speakers we have listed on SpecOut, making it by far the most popular option for wireless speakers. Generally, Bluetooth streams audio at a lower quality and over less distance than Wi-Fi-based technologies. The SC-NA30 uses Bluetooth v3.0 + HS, which is not the newest version, but should be solid for streaming music. This speaker also utilizes the aptX codec, which claims to deliver near-CD quality wireless streaming via Bluetooth. The SC-NA30 has a Bluetooth wireless range of 32 feet, which is just below average.Wired Connectivity: The SC-NA30 can receive audio from its 3.5mm (AUX) port, in addition to its wireless capabilities. It can output audio via its line out port. Battery The SC-NA30 has a playback time of 20 hours (a whopping 150% better than the average). Playback time attempts to measure the number of hours a speaker can play for, but there is no standard for measurments, so the numbers may be deceiving. Playback This speaker is a Bluetooth speaker, so it can play music and be controlled from any device that supports Bluetooth audio streaming. Form Factor and Channels The SC-NA30 is a bookshelf speaker; it's designed to be placed on a shelf, table, or other surface. It's 2.1 channel, meaning that it is a set with two speakers and subwoofer. Weight Weighing in at 2.05 lbs, the SC-NA30 is fairly heavy compared to other portable wireless speakers. Heavier speakers tend to produce better sound quality (at the expense of portability, of course); keep this in mind as you make your decision. Size The SC-NA30's dimensions are 5.68 x 9.62 x 1.9 inches. At a volume of 104 in³, this is pretty big for a portable wireless speaker.
