Founder is the popular choice that most people will think of, when you mention Bak Kut Teh. You know a place is famous when people actually queued up twenty minutes for a table by the road side of Balestier road, watching the others slurping down their warm peppery soup.
The walls on their shop are filled with the numerous photographs of celebrities and there is hardly any empty space for new photographs.
Bak kut teh 肉骨茶 is a Chinese soup popularly served in Singapore The name literally translates as "meat bone tea", and, at its simplest, consists of meaty pork ribs simmered in a complex broth of herbs/spices for hours. Bak kut teh was introduced in the 19th century by Chinese coolies and workers of Hokkien origin. The dish is reported to supplement the meagre diet of port coolies and as a tonic to boost their health.
Bak kut teh is usually eaten with rice or noodles (sometimes as a noodle soup), and often served with youtiao (strips of fried dough) for dipping into the soup. Chinese tea is also usually served in the belief that it dilutes or dissolves the copious amount of fat consumed in this pork-laden dish
排骨 1 公斤
汤料 1包
蒜头 20 瓣
清水 1.5公升
黑酱油 ½茶匙
烹饪方法:
1. 将新鲜排骨清洗干净,备用。
2. 清水,汤料,黑酱油及蒜头一并置进锅内煮沸。
3. 再将排骨放进入锅中烹煮至滚。
4. 调至中火烹煮35分钟。
5. 熄火,焖10分钟。
6. 便可享用。

黑胡椒,白胡椒, 盐, 蒜粉和调味料

Pork Ribs 1kg
Soup Base 1 Packet
Garlic 20pcs
Water 1.5litre
Dark Soya Sauce ½ tea spoon
Cooking Instruction
1. Rinse and drain pork ribs. Put aside
2. Place water, soup base, dark soya sauce and garlic in a pot and cook till boil.
3. Put in pork ribs and continue to cook till boil
4. Lower to medium fire and simmer for 35 mins
5. Turn off fire and cover for another 10 mins
6. Ready to serve
