Thank goodness that by the Middle ages people figured out that it's delicious in food! Now, by many standards, cumin is the most ubiquitous spice in world cuisine. Found in foods from the Mediterranean to Mexico to India, it's been around the block, if you get our meaning. In Mexico you can find it in a traditional mole, in hummus from the Mediterranean, and in India in a number of their curries. It's all over the place! Want a few more examples you say? Sure!
