I had heard of pre-shave oils being advertised before and was curious about what the effects on me would be. Let's start with the scent. The scent is ok for those who really enjoy lavender, but I found it somewhat potent myself. As far as the oil, it did provide a different feeling to my face pre-shave although it did seem to leave a bit of oily residue. I had some issues with the AOS shaving cream not coming off my face as I would have liked during the shave itself so I chose to try the oil with my regular shaving cream. It did seem to make a slight difference on the closeness of the shave, but it wasn't anything significant enough to make me spend my money on in the future. Overall, the smell was just OK for me, but I think the results are there for performance. If you are someone who desires a luxury shave, this would be a good product for you to try out. And secondly, was lavender really the smell that I wanted to permeate from my face after using the product?! Simple answers: no oily residue, and a great smell. Let's get down to business though! This oil is one of the coolest things I've ever put on my face. I can't believe, after using it several times now, how great this stuff works. Not only does it smell great, but it truly softens my beard hair and makes for a great, smooth shave overall. There is no residue left on my face and I am very happy with that. Had that been the case, I'm pretty sure I would have stopped using it immediately. However, the oil rubs on/in and just does its job, with no nasty grease left on my face. Seriouslya|if you are reading thisa|you are missing out on time that you could be buying and using this awesome product. Don't hesitate to buy this with confidence.
