Cooking Organic Texmati White Rice

1 cup uncooked rice
1 3/4 cups water
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
1 teaspoon butter (optional)

  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil; stir once.
  3. Cover with a tight fitting lid or foil; reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and let stand (covered) 5-10 minutes longer.

Yields approximately 3 cups cooked rice.
