Instructions: . Nasal Sinus Irrigation - Getting Started. Select a Tip. Your new SinuPulse Elite sinus tips are available in both a Standard Flex Sinus Irrigator Tip and SinuMist Tip (spray atomizer). Choose the tip which works best for you or ask your physician which they recommend. Note: SinuMist Tip is use only with SinuPulse Elite Irrigator. Preparing saline rinse. For maximum comfort use a saline solution or doctor prescribed solution. Remove water tank and open lid to fill with warm water. Make sure water temperature is room temperature or lukewarm (tepid) between 92F and 101F (33C~38C). To make a saline solution add one teaspoon (5g) or one pre-measured packet (5g) of SinuAir or one teaspoon of non-iodized salt for every 16oz (.47 liter) of water. Always be sure to mix thoroughly before use and rinse thoroughly after each use. Irrigate according to directions or your physicians instructions. When finished, replace the tip in the holder. Never leave liquids in the reservoir. Nasal Sinus Irrigation Instructions. Step 1: Remove the handle from holder and insert male end of sinus tip into the opening on the handle of the SinuPulse Elite or oral Irrigator. Push down firmly the tip will "click" into place when properly seated. The tip must be properly connected before use. If tip does not click easily into place, simply moisten the grooved end of the tip with water before inserting. Important: When using with SinuPulse Elite press and hold orange quick release button on back of handle to remove tip. Step 2: When using Standard Flex Sinus Irrigator Tip adjust SinuPulse Elite or oral irrigator settings so that the water stream is approximately one inch high before inserting into the nose. Step 3: Place the tip of the bulb firmly but gently into one nostril and lean over the sink looking at the drain. Place the tongue against the roof of the mouth to help guide drainage out of the nose instead of the mouth. Step 4: Turn on the irrigator from the base of the unit or release the pause switch on the handle to begin the flow of solution. Rinse solution will enter the nostril and gently bathe the nose and sinus and exit the other nostril. Step 5: Pressure may be adjusted to a comfortable setting or as directed by your physician. Continue irrigation until the fluid comes out clear (approximately 250cc or half the water tank). Step 6: Turn off the irrigator. Step 7: Remove the sinus tip attachment from the current nostril and switch sides and repeat process. Discontinue nasal irrigation when nasal condition clears or as directed by your physician. Step 8: When finished be sure to rinse out the unit thoroughly with clean water. After you have finished irrigating, gently blow your nose. In order to prevent pressure on the ear drum, do not block nasal passages completely.
