The chief and villagers welcomed him because they believed that the Sea Kalou (Sea God) had blessed him and spared his life. The voyager was so thankful that he wanted to share the blessed sands that had saved his life. The village helped load his vessel with coral from the reefs and the voyager continued on his trip spreading the coral to help make soft, beautiful sand for the beaches around the world.
