Studio : ULU Publisher : ULU Binding : Apparel Product Description ULU is a small producer of exquisitely crafted winter boots inspired by the people and culture of the circumpolar regions of the north. The ULU Aniu Boot ("aniu" meaning "snow" in Inuit) reflects this commitment to superior winter comfort with terrific traction, in a modern interpretation of a traditional design. The exterior leather is American tanned bison, with a unique and distinct grain to it in a marvelous deep brown. Trimmed with elk leather the look is masculine and streamlined. With an 11.5" cuff to keep out cold and snow these have pull on ease with a one hand adjustable lacking system at the ankle for a fast and customized fit. Molded insole and an EVA dual density midsole take these well beyond floppy and sloppy winter boots. The materials for these boots are responsibly sourced, which is a catchall phrase that's not well understood by those outside of wildlife management. To maintain healthy herds, prevent overgrazing, illness, and starvation, herds are managed by culling. Responsible sourcing uses the materials from culls to create respectful works of wearable art. Wide enough to accommodate jeans tucked into the cuffs, tall enough to provide coverage in snow, but comfortable enough to be an everyday wear, this is the boot for the man looking for something both sustainable and substantially nicer than the everyday clumsy rubber boot. 0
