Each light can point at any angle. You can even have just one light on at a time which is nice. You can use it as a spotlight to showcase artwork on the wall. It will easily fit in with the decor in any room. I have it in my living room with two 3-light brushed nickle pole lamps (also from Walmart) and am pleased with how well they all go together. Great lamps, great price, great buy! Just what I was looking for. The "boxes" they were shipped in is where I have a problem! The cardboard was so soft it practically ripped when you touched it. Ordered four of these and one box had been taped up by FedEx. Another box had a hole in it!
