The fixing solution is in tablet form that you have to let disolve for 1-2 hours in boiling water before you can use it. The coloring is in tablet form that you also have to disolve for about 30 min to 1 hr. This part is merely time consuming and annoying, the really bad part about this kit is that very little will fit in the tube. I was doing youth med shirts and could barely fit them in there. If you want to do a particular type of design you can forget it because for this tube the only option is to stuff the item in the tube with no rubber bands and the color washed out to be very pale. I felt like I wasted my money on this kit and was much mroe satisfied with the second kit I bought which included powder form fixing solution and dye, gloves and rubber bands.
