I washed it alone on the gentle cycle according to the washing instructions. The whole corner is SHREDDED. I washed it when we first bought it and this was only the second washing. Aside from that, the fabric is not even soft on the comforter, the pillows, or the pillow shams. I bought it a second time because I left my first set in California after moving. I had it shipped here to Hawaii and even my husband loves it. I added in red silk covered pillows and will also be adding in a small red throw blanket to go across the middle. In my old room I used pink colors and that's another reason I love this set, you can easily get it to fit any theme in your room! I'd recommend it to anyone. Super comfortable! It is a nice thickness- not too thick or thin and the material looks very similar to dupioni silk. The reverse side is a material that isn't silky or slick so it stays on you at night and doesn't fall off.
