Safety

Protection Circuit Module (PCM)

The Protection Circuit Module (PCM) prevents over-charging and over-discharging, over-current, over-temperature and short circuit.

Over-charging is prevented by terminating the charge voltage of the cells from exceeding the specified charging voltage. This prevents the cell voltage from rising too high and over-charging the battery. Over-discharging is prevented when current is cut off at about 2.2V/cell.

Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC)

Internal protection, the Li-ion battery includes a built-in temperature switch called PTC, that protects against high current surges, thus preventing over-heating.
