In the late 1950's, Dr. A.G. Jacobs, a practicing dentist and founder of Safe-T-Gard, began producing mouthguards using denture lining silicone materials. In the early 1960's, he pioneered boiling water mouthguards and was granted three patents for his innovations. Mouthguards in colors were also a Safe-T-Gard innovation. Today, Safe-T-Gard offers FDA approved colorant and latex free mouthguards in more styles and options than anyone else.
