Building it kept him creatively entertained for several hours and he he thoroughly loved the challenge of figuring out how to put it together. The end result of a coaster that is over 2 1/2 feet high, totally wowed him. I can't tell you how often I've found him standing there in front of the completed coaster, watching the little motorized car zoom around- it's crazy fast! His 2 younger sisters have been fascinated too. Our son did find the directions a bit hard to understand at a few places and needed a little help, but it wasn't a big deal and we soon had them figured out. I'm guessing if a child is familiar with K'nex sets, it wouldn't be a problem though. We can't wait to download the instructions for a 2nd coaster on knex.com! I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. The little coaster car requires 2 AA batteries, which aren't included, so make sure you have some on hand. Was this review helpful?Yes (1)No (1)ReportPerfect toy for the big kids11/19/2016Average rating:4out of5stars, based onreviews11/19/2016by I was sent the K'NEX Whiplash Roller Coaster free of charge in exchange for my honest review of the product. My son who is 11 years old enjoying playing with K'NEX building toys. He say's because is doesn't feel like bay toys. He found the K'NEX Whiplash Roller Coaster to be more of a challenge to put together for him which made it enjoyable. Right away he was pretty amazed it had real moving parts such as the motorized roller coaster. The booklet provided had easy to follow step by step instructions my 11 year old had no trouble figuring out. Once it was completed he enjoy the look of the Creepy Carnival theme and special graphic panels. As it moved up the railings it made clicking noises like a real roller coaster. Some sticker are small, but not impossible to get on. Nice product at a great price for 580 parts, including over 14 feet of track and a motorized chain lift! We found that in order for it to move smoothly along the tracks it's important that you go back once it's built and make sure everything is tight and secure. It took my son about 4 hours to finish the build. In my opinion this toy is a home run for ages 11 and up!Was this review helpful?Yes (5)No (1)ReportHours of entertainment11/16/2016Average rating:5out of5stars, based onreviews11/16/2016by StayclosetohomeI was provided this product for free in exchange for our opinion and I would definitely buy it for a gift. My 10 year old was a little apprehensive about the K'NEX as he has never made one before. Well after spending a long time, building it he has enjoyed countless hours watching the roller coaster go around and around it's track. The Wild Whiplash Roller Coaster Building Set from K'NEX! stands 2 ½ feet high, and includes a motorized chain-lift that propels the coaster car through 14 feet of twisting, turning track! You can download an additional track directions but I am not sure I am ready for them to take it apart and rebuild it. Maybe on a snow day. I thought they would grow tired of watching the same course, but both he and my older son wake up every morning to watch it. The have had to utilize engineering ski
