Sony 50mm F/1.8 Overview

Elevate your portraiture with this lightweight Sony DT 50mm f/1.8 SAM Lens for APS-C A-mount cameras. It offers a 75mm equivalent focal length which combines with the fast f/1.8 aperture so photographers can more easily create flattering images with shallow depth of field. Also, it incorporates a Smooth Autofocus Motor (SAM) for fast, quiet focusing performance as well as a minimum focus distance of 13.4". Additionally, it has a seven-blade circular diaphragm that ensures smooth bokeh.

Designed for APS-C format cameras, this 50mm lens will provide a short telephoto 75mm equivalent focal length that is well suited to portraits.
A fast maximum aperture of f/1.8 allows users to work in less-than-ideal lighting conditions and create images with a shallow depth of field.
By incorporating a Smooth Autofocus Motor (SAM) unit into the lens itself to drive the focusing element group, this lens is able to deliver smoother, quieter, and faster performance than coupled systems. Also, it offers a minimum focus distance of 13.4".
