It is designed for short walks around the neighborhood or on a smooth trail through a park. It is very comfortable. Avia designed a unique heel with a thickly padded "U" shape around the heel that provides superior side to side stability. The Avia heel feels odd for a day or two but soon the extra support on the sides feels natural. For short 30 minute walks around the neighborhood, the Avia Jag is as comfortable as the New Balance, Nike and Rockport walking shoes I've worn in the past. The extra stability from the Avia heel is a bonus that is lacking from other brands of walking shoes. The Jag is made from cheap looking materials but it looks okay. Walking shoes in this price range usually last for six months to eight months, but it is too soon to tell about this pair. FIT: I normally wear a size 10 D shoe but went up a half size to 10 1/2 because Avia shoes tend to run small. I found These At Wal-Mart I Was Looking At Spending About 25-40 Dollars, I tried These On And Found Them To Be Very Comfortable I Recommend These Trail Shows To Anyone.. Looking For A Good Deal...
