Product Description
Presenting the C9 CD
One of the flagship models in Cordoba’s Luthier series, the completely handmade C9 features a solid Canadian cedar top with solid mahogany back and sides. Built in the style of Torres with Spanish fan bracing and Spanish heel construction, the C9 has the neck shape and flat fingerboard characteristic of traditional classical guitars. The C9 also features the Luthier series’ signature rosette, a mother-of-pearl inlay inspired by a Domingo Esteso rosette from the 1920s. C9 CD Full Specs
Solid Canadian cedar top, solid mahogany back and sides, ebony fingerboard, Indian rosewood bridge and binding, natural high gloss PU finish, 52mm nut width, 650mm scale length, Savarez Cristal Corum strings. Includes Cordoba hardshell humidified case. Also available with a solid European spruce top (C9 SP), as a parlor size (C9 Parlor, solid cedar top only), and with a crossover style neck (C9 Crossover, solid cedar top only). Traditional Craftsmanship
Nylon string guitars are built more lightly than steel string guitars, allowing the soundboard to vibrate and resonate more freely. The fan bracing pattern gives the center of the soundboard more surface area to vibrate, and respond to the tension of the strings. A more responsive soundboard makes the guitar louder, and provides better tone. Like all Cordoba guitars, the C9 comes equipped with a lightweight, two-way truss rod that allows you to adjust the amount of relief in the guitar’s neck. More About the Luthier Series
The next level up from the Iberia series, Cordoba has developed the Luthier series, providing concert-level guitars for the serious musician. The Luthier series features Cordoba’s all-solid boutique models, which are completely handmade in a small workshop using carefully selected premium woods. These guitars are built with traditional Spanish heel construction, where the top of the guitar is attached to the neck, the sides are added next, and the guitar’s body is sealed by the installation of the back. The foundation of the Luthier series rests upon construction methods mastered by Spanish classical builders, most notably the Spanish heel and fan bracing. For the more modern player, Luthier series instruments may also feature lattice bracing, raised fingerboards for enhanced playability, and include cutaway-electric models with slimmer necks. The Cordoba C9 CD at a Glance: Solid Canadian cedar topSolid mahogany back and sidesFull-size classical with a 650mm scale length and 52mm nut widthLightweight, two-way truss rod built into the neckSavarez Cristal Corum strings in High Tension, 500CJIncludes hardshell Cordoba humidified archtop wood case More About Cordoba Guitars
