LUMIGAN® (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% is used for the reduction of high eye pressure, also called intraocular pressure (IOP), in people with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
LUMIGAN® (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% can cause increased brown coloring of the iris, which may be permanent. LUMIGAN® 0.01% can cause darkening of the eyelid skin and eyelashes, which may be reversible after treatment is stopped. The long-term effects of increased dark coloring are not known.
LUMIGAN® 0.03% may slowly increase the growth and thickness of eyelashes, which are usually reversible after treatment is stopped.
How it works:
It helps eyelashes grow by increasing the number of hairs in the initial growth phase (the anagen phase). It also increases the amount of time hairs remain in the anagen phase, allowing them to develop more.
How to use Solution to increase lash length:
* Apply one drop on a disposable eyeliner applicator brush (you can buy from this site) and draw along the upper eyelid lash line. Carefully blot off any excess that may have dripped beyond the upper eyelid. Do not apply to the lower lash line. Repeat for the other eye.
* Apply once a day until the desired length is achieved. Results are usually apparent in about eight weeks, and the desired length is usually achieved in 14 to 16 weeks.
If you miss a dose of Careprost eye drops take it as soon as you remember, unless it is time to take the next dose, then skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose.
You should store your Careprost eye drops in a cool place where the temperature stays below 25°C and always replace the top on the bottle to prevent contamination. Discard the bottle of Careprost eye drops 4 weeks after opening.

Prostaglandin analogs, including bimatoprost, have been reported to cause inflammation inside the eye. Also, treatment with LUMIGAN® 0.01% may make existing inflammation worse.
Macular edema (swelling of the macula), including cystoid macular edema, has been reported during treatment with bimatoprost ophthalmic solution. LUMIGAN® 0.01% should be used with caution in patients without a natural lens, in patients with a torn posterior lens capsule who have an artificial lens implant, or in patients with known risk factors for macular edema.
Avoid allowing the tip of the dispensing bottle to touch the eye, anything around the eye, fingers, or any other surface to avoid contamination by common bacteria known to cause eye infections. Using contaminated solutions can cause serious damage to the eye and loss of vision.
If you have eye surgery, eye trauma or infection, or develop any eye reactions, immediately consult with your physician about continuing the use of LUMIGAN® 0.01%.
If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using LUMIGAN® 0.01%. Then wait 15 minutes after using LUMIGAN® 0.01% before you put your contacts back into your eyes.
The most common side effect is eye redness. Other side effects include growth of eyelashes and itchy eyes.
