What is an "Atlas Foam Roller?" The Atlas foam roller is a foam roller with bearings, steel and rubber grip handles. It is capable of free rotation in multiple positions by the user. I took an average 6x12" high density polyethylene foam roller, drilled it so that I could insert bearings and a 24" steel tube. Interestingly, the steel rod increases elasticity, durability and resistive force by the user. There are multiple modalities a person could perform that a traditional or conventional foam roller cannot because of its unique design and mechanics such as: ease of use while sitting, lying down, standing and partner assisted with respect to positive pressure musculoskeletal and myofascial massage. The user can choose how he or she wants to "roll-out" or "massage-out" their problem areas; problem areas can be, sore muscle, acute to chronic back pain or even preventative measures to reduce the intensity of onset related to musculoskeletal injury and soreness. To emphasize the unique mechanics the user has available them verses an average foam roller, the Atlas Foam Roller can be more user friendly.
