The 2.5 edition of the Olympus features minimal changes, and it is equipped with an updated upper for enhanced longevity and specifically designed to prevent blowouts. In keeping with Altra''s original design, the Olympus is fashioned with a Zero Drop platform, which places your heel and forefoot at the same height for a natural stride. Meanwhile, the dual-layer EVA foam midsole and energetic A-Bound foam reduce impact and increase return energy at each step-off. Altra also added a comfy Contour footbed for even more cushioning, because 4,000 feet of technical terrain can really do a number on your feet.
To top it all off, the Olympus is outfitted with a Vibram MegaGrip sole, which utilizes a trail-specific Vibram rubber that is mapped to support the bones and tendons in your foot. A FootShape toe box also lets your toes spread out naturally to ensure stability on rugged terrain. On top of all that, Altra equipped the Olympus 2.5 with a quick-drying and durable mesh to ventilate and keep your feet cool, and a Gaiter Trap to accommodate gaiters without having to wrap them around the sole of your shoes.
