Cooking Original Couscous

1 cup uncooked couscous

1 cup water

1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)

1 teaspoon butter (optional)

  1. In a medium saucepan bring water salt and butter to a boil.
  2. Add couscous stirring quickly.
  3. Remove from heat and cover.
  4. Let stand for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Fluff with a fork before serving.

Yields approximately 2 cups cooked couscous.

Unenriched durum semolina (wheat).
