Thermacell Insect Repellents Use Allethrin for Ultimate Protection The key to creating Thermacell’s unique 15 x 15-foot zone of protection is allethrin. All devices operate on a single butane cartridge, which heats a repellent mat releasing allethrin, a synthetic copy of the natural repellent found in chrysanthmum flowers. It repels mosquitoes, black flies, and no-see-ums, and will not harm humans or pets. Within minutes after turning on the Lantern or Appliance, the repellent creates a 15 by 15-foot (225 square-foot) area of repellency, the size of an average deck, patio, or campsite.
The Thermacell Mosquito Repellent Backyard Torch will add an element of ambiance to your outdoor space with its realistic candle-like flickering LED light. This torch is safe to place anywhere, use with the expandable pole to place the torch near a walkway or use the lantern stand to easily convert it for a tabletop. Its flameless design makes it safe for use around pets and children.
There is no need to move and store the Thermacell Mosquito Repellent Backyard Torch when it is not in use. Simply place the specially designed cover on and it will protect the device from rain and dirt. A built in safety feature prevents the torch from being used when the cap is in place.
The Thermacell Outdoor Lantern operates on a single butane cartridge, which heats a mat releasing allethrin, a synthetic copy of a natural insecticide found in pyrethrum flowers, creating a 15 x 15 foot comfort zone. Each repellent mat provides up to four hours of protection and each butane cartridge provides up to 12 hours of operation.
