The ball of the foot is the area on the bottom of your foot just behind the toes. It is the portion of the foot that bears weight when standing or walking. The Metatarsalgia Pain Relief Kit footpads in these kits are designed to shift the weight off of the painful areas. The location that you place the pad is critical. Do not place a footpad directly over the painful area, it will result in increase pain. To properly place the pad put your thumb over the area of pain and place the pad just behind your thumb(toward the arch). By placing the footpad in this location the weight will be transferred off of the painful area and through the pad. The Standard Metatarsalgia Pain Relief Kit contains both felt and foam pads with adhesive backs. The pads are placed directly to the skin for best results. You may order additional pads individually in the quantities that you desire. This kit provides you with a chance to try out both felt and foam pads. One type of pad is not better that the other.
