The shoe is lite weight, compared to a boot, and cooler than a boot.The most difficult thing was finding a good pair of insoles to go into the shoe. I'm in the shoes 10 hours a day, and with the insoles, my feet don't hurt. For the price, they're a great buy. I also purchased a can of nybuck spray, which helps with waterproofing. Given that I'm in an auto shop, for the most part, they're slip resistant.The shoes ran true to size and the steel toe area is wide and doesn't pinch. I wear Thorlo's with them and the shoe feels great. I like the thickness of strings that came with the shoe, though they're beginning to show signs of wear and tear. It's actually quite a comfortable shoe as steel toe shoes go, there's been very little of a "breaking in" where my foot hurt.
