Cascara is the dried outer fruit of the coffee bean and can be steeped much like a loose leaf tea to make a delicious beverage with flavor similarities to apple cider or hibiscus tea

Brewing Tips: For every 1 gram of cascara use 20 grams of water. Steep like loose leaf tea for 5-7 minutes with water at approx. 200 F. Alternate measurements: Use 2 Tablespoons of cascara for 10-11 ounces of water (enough for a typical mug)
Traditionally used to make spiced drinks like Bolivian Sultana and Yemeni Qishr. Considered a superfruit by some because of the naturally occurring antioxidant and polyphenol properties of coffee cherries.
Lower in caffeine than coffee: Brewed cascara tea has about 1/4 to 1/8 the caffeine content of brewed coffee depending on the type of coffee, brew time etc.
